158 Mystlinge in zehn Typen
Vier Mystlinge passen ins Team.
Was danach kommt, sei hier nicht verraten.
Gegen andere spielen

On a PC: press F in the game. The drawn handheld steps aside and the game fills the whole window – it plays much better that way on a monitor. F11 also makes the browser hide its bars.
Mystria is a monster-collecting role-playing game that runs in your browser. It costs nothing, needs no account and downloads nothing: opening the page is enough, and the game begins. Progress is saved on your own device, via the menu under Profile.
You play on a drawn handheld – a dot-matrix screen, a D-pad, two buttons. If you like, the switch next to the screen adds a CRT simulation, with scanlines, curvature and the afterglow that tube monitors had. The game is available in English and German; the DE/EN switch beside it changes the language.
What it's about
You start in Rootwick, a village at the edge of a forest, with a single companion. From there, the road leads through nineteen areas to the League – and beyond. Along the way you catch wild Mystlings with Myst Crystals, raise them and build a team from them. In the villages, the people tell what has happened in this world; those who listen find connections that stretch across several places.
158 Mystlings in ten types
There are 158 species, each with its own look, its own stats and its own evolution stages. Each belongs to one of ten types: Beast, Blaze, Tide, Nature, Light, Stone, Wind, Might, Shadow and Mystic. When a species evolves depends on its nature: some grow up fast, others take a very long time.
The types stand in a relationship to one another that shapes every battle: Blaze does more against Nature and less against Tide. A hit with the right type strikes nearly twice as hard, one with the wrong type only half as hard – there are no immunities, so no Mystling is completely safe from anything.
On top of that, every Mystling carries a trait. There are more than sixty of them in the game, and they really affect the battle: one lets a Mystling survive the first fatal hit, another passes its strength on to its successor when switching out, a third shields all the others from the last slot in the team. Some only work when the team suits them – so a team is more than its four strongest Mystlings.
The battles
Four Mystlings fit in a team. When one falls, the next steps in. Each knows up to four attacks of its type, learned one after another as it levels up – the stronger ones miss more often, so power is paid for with risk.
More important than it first seems is initiative. It doesn't just decide who attacks first: whoever is faster than their opponent also hits more reliably. A fast team with weaker attacks can therefore beat a slow one with stronger attacks.
Nineteen areas
The world is built by hand, not randomly generated. Each area has its own inhabitants, its own wild Mystlings and its own look, and the road doesn't just run straight ahead: side paths end at hidden finds, and some gates only open late. Which places those are is for everyone to discover – only the first is named here: the Green Whisperwood beyond Rootwick.
At the end of the journey the League awaits. What comes after that won't be given away here.
Playing against others
Besides the journey, there are two ways to face other players. In a duel, you send your grown team into the fight. In draft mode, that doesn't count: there, both sides take turns putting together a fresh team from Mystlings laid out before them – whoever has played for a long time has no head start here, only more practice at choosing.
